Teqlo Preview
Teqlo.com has launched a public preview of their technology. This technology looks like a much more powerful and intuitive iteration of what Yahoo Pipes is trying to do -- Teqlo makes it easy to create programs that mash up the Web, without programming. This is to programming what widgets are to content -- you can build applications like you might build things out of Legos. You just click components together and data starts flowing between them, resulting in an application. Of course there's more to it than that -- but essentially it's a new and easier way to program on the Web. Peter Rip (an investor in my company, Radar Networks, and also in Teqlo) has written a nice visual post that explains (and shows) how this looks and works. So what might we call this paradigm: Visual Programming for the Web? Codelets? Vidgets? It takes the "pro" out of programming -- so anyone can write apps? It's definitely food for thought. They have a really new model for how to build apps in which apps sort of self-assemble.
